SOMA.2
CENTER FOR PERFORMANCE RESEARCH
APRIL 2019

Ogemdi stands against a wall wearing a green jumpsuit.

Ogemdi dances with her arms reaching forward and her gaze at her hands.

Ogemdi kneels on the ground and looks to one side.

Ogemdi looks at projections behind her.

Ogemdi kneels on the floor and smiles.

Ogemdi dances with her arms outstretched and palms flexed.
A sequel to SOMA, SOMA.2 saw me and collaborator Talia Rothstein build a duet despite distance, using archival materials and epistolary exchanges to pursue a process of simultaneously reflecting and regenerating.
SOMA.2 was presented as part of Center for Performance Research’s Spring Movement Festival.
It was supported by the Foundation for Contemporary Art’s Emergency Grant.
